Sensitivity vs Telepathy

There’s a huge difference between being sensitive to other’s feelings from being able to read their mind.
I know you have a problem with me, I can sense that. I ask you what’s wrong and you would say nothing. I really have no idea why you’re so cold all of a sudden.
We've known each other for a short time only but you know I am okay with people talking to me about what i do wrong and how i offend them. So I really do not get why you won’t tell me when there clearly is something wrong.
You know I’d rather have you tell me what’s your problem than complain to others about me. I don’t know if you’re actually confiding in other people, but if you are, I’d rather you confide in me.
I feel like I’m talking to no one. I ask what’s wrong, you say everything’s fine. I text, you don’t reply. I call, you don’t answer. I message in Facebook, you ignore. I am sensitive to your feelings but you should know I can never read minds.
Maybe my jokes have gone too far sometimes. Maybe I act like a know-it-all sometimes. Maybe I become bossy sometimes. But you are my friend and we’e talked about this. It’s not personal, it’s all in jest or purely business.
God, this is crazy. I keep thinking and thinking what I did wrong. But I will never have the answer if you don’t actually tell me.
Don’t fault me for being insensitive to your feelings. Fault me for not being blessed with telepathy.

Broken Promises

Okay so I said I will write over the summer and I'm 2 days away from the start of sophomore year and not a single post had been written. So with a push from my friend Francine, I shall start writing now. No promises anymore on how many posts I will write because there's already too many broken promises in this world and here's a few of mine:

My Broken Promises:

  • I promised myself that I would study harder.
  • I promised myself that I would be thinner.
  • I promised myself that I would talk to him.
  • I promised myself that I would be more outgoing.
  • I promised myself that I would learn how to work Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • I promised myself that I would fix my closet.
  • I promised myself that I would be more patient.
  • I promised myself that I would sleep earlier.
  • I promised myself that I would stay away from Tumblr.
  • I promised myself that I would lessen my tweets.
  • I promised myself that I would go to gym at least 3 times a week.
  • I promised myself that I would be rich after summer.
  • I promised myself that I would not get into a Twitter fight.
  • I promised myself that I would not look at the comments on ANC's facebook page.
  • I promised myself that I would not curse these people that comment on the said page.
  • I promised myself that I would be less sarcastic.
  • I promised myself that I would go to church.
  • I promised myself that I would not like Justin Bieber's song Boyfriend.
  • I promised myself that I would not watch anymore videos of the Boys of Milan/Paris Fashion Show.
  • I promised myself that I would be a singer.
  • I promised myself that I would be a dancer.
  • I promised myself that I would discover a talent come summer.
  • I promised myself that I would stop watching the Harvard Baseball Team's Call Me Maybe video.

To promise not to do a thing is the surest way in the world to make a body want to go and do that very thing.

So now it's time to watch Fransicso Lachowski do his thing on the runway.

First Time

This is my very first post so it is just fitting to write all about me. I am that conceited.

First things first, Hi! Welcome to my blog. I decided to create a blog mainly to improve my writing skills. And partly because I decided that this summer 2012, I won't be just eating, watching TV and going out, I will be productive or at least, close to  it. I have a Tumblr to share my thoughts in pictures, but I want somewhere where I can just write what I feel and the 140 characters in Twitter is just not enough. So here it is.

I chose "I'll Do Something Epic" as my blog title for the simple reason that I am fascinated with the word "epic". And also because I plan to do something big. I may not know it yet but I know it will be in epic proportions.

So about me. I don't what you to read a full biography here so I'll just put my life in a few bullet points:

  • I am

or you can call me

  • I am an only child, only  niece and only grandchild so that means I get all the inheritance in the Lin family. Rich baby!!
  • Knoller turned Atenean. I spent great years in Miriam as a child but now I'm spending the start of my "adult" years in the Ateneo as a communication major.
  • If I'm not going to be a huge movie star then I'll probably be a big time journalist or a shark of a lawyer.
  • I paint. I draw. I make art.
  • I can't paint even if my life depends on it. I can only draw butterflies and it is the same butterfly as when I was in 2nd grade. And my artworks are the ones I made in Kindergarten.
  • Even if I don't do art, I still try to show my creative side with the help of Adobe Creative Suite. I try to make art in Photoshop, edit videos in Premiere and create lay-outs in InDesign. Take note of the word "try".
  • I live for sports. I am not part of any varsity teams let alone a professional player, but I am a sports girl. I am a proud tennis addict and football junkie. I am a Novak Djokovic fan and a Chelsea supporter. I trust in Fernando Torres and I  believe that he'll be back.
  • I won't survive without TV shows. Even if I have a huge test the next day, I can't skip on my guilty pleasures: Once Upon a Time, Grey's Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Grimm, House, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Psych, Pretty Little Liars, Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Voice. I would really die without them. No joke.
  • My voice is just like Adele's. Without the whole really great voice part. I like different artists but I will always stick with The Fray, Adele (ehem), Simple Plan, The Script and Maroon 5 to accompany in all those lonely nights. Currently I'm into folk music and indie. I just love Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver and James Vincent McMorrow. And my heart will always have space for some hunky Brits just like The Wanted and Ed Sheeran.
  • Potterhead. ϟ
  • Reading books always made me calm down and be at peace. Except maybe Hunger Games since that is an emotional roller coaster I can't seem to get enough of.
  • And now I blog...
